Buyers are fickle and when they can't access a site they move on to someone else they believe is still in the game...

Sexy Bastard debuts new advertising tool

Sexy Bastard, Andrew Buckler's men's underwear line made its first appearance at Lingerie Americas this month and showed off its newest collection of men's boxer-briefs along with the company's new advertising tool - a 23" x 38" poster designed as an in-store display.

The poster features a model grinning slyly at the camera while sitting on the loo reading a smutty magazine. The model, clad with tattoos down the length of his arm, parts of his chest and legs looks more like a rock star taking a break between sets and has the company's newest boxer-brief down around his ankles. The Sexy Bastard logo is show across the model's black tank top.

On the reverse side, the poster features all of the different boxer-brief styles, tank tops, and socks available to customers with a brief description and style number. As an added bonus, the reverse side features an erotic tryst between the model and woman in the same bathroom. The boxer-briefs are, of course, prominently featured.

"The poster is a great tool for stores and customers. For the store, it helps them promote the product, sell it and reorder it. For the customers, it makes it easy for them to view their favorite styles and buy it," said Marina Lelchuck, vp of sales and merchandising at Buckler. Lelchuck also noted that Buckler had a direct hand in the art direction of the poster and at Lingerie Americas, the buyers were some of the first to receive the posters and enjoy the edgy and sexy look of Andrew Buckler's Sexy Bastard.

Dick and Jane debuts at Lingerie Americas

This edition of Lingerie Americas featured more booths dedicated to Men's underwear and one that stood out with its life-size posters and modern, clean colors was Dick and Jane, a new Vienna-based men's underwear line.

Michael Herzog, marketing and sales manager for Dick and Jane said that the theme of the collection is based on a combination of different colors like classic black and white, lime, avocado and gray.

According to the company, "...this collection is elegant, natural and modern, and consists of a multitude of shades which will go easily with anything and match all the latest fashion trends."

Notable in the collection are boxer-briefs and shirts with delicate embroideries and comfortable, durable broad waistbands manufactured in Italy. Most of the items in Dick and Jane are available in sizes S - XXL and are manufactured in Turkey.

Herzog hopes that the collection will make an impact on the American market and is betting that even the company name, Dick and Jane, will strike a cord with the public. More information on the company available at www.dickandjane.eu.

New shapewear debuts at CURVENY

Slimpressions, a new and targeted approach to women's shapewear made it's debut at CURVENY earlier this month. Slimpressions zeros in on unflattering flabby, flapping arms with its machine-washable compression fabric and slims down not only a woman’s arms but also their back and midriff.

Created and distributed by Branches Unlimited, an entrepreneurial enterprise cofounded by sisters-in-law Amy Pedersen and Jennifer Daniels, Slimpressions made a positive impression on buyers at the show. The shapewear will be ready to ship in March and comes in the following styles - the Have-Nots™ and The Haves™.

The Have-Nots™ line is scooped down below the bra, letting women promote their natural assets and not compress them while the The Haves™ go over a bra. The Have-Nots™ and The Haves™ are also available as bodyshapers featuring a long torso for tucking or layering and a subtle mesh weave in the armpit for added breathability.

Both the Have-Nots™ and The Haves™ come in four colors - black, chocolate, white and nude and wholesale for $35. Branches Unlimited designs and manufactures Slimpressions in Los Angeles and is looking for qualified sales reps for all US regions and Canada. More information on the company can be found on www.slimpressions.com.

“We think it’s time that women everywhere should be able to raise their hands with confidence in their appearance and pride in their shape,” said Pedersen. “Slimpressions makes that goal a reality.”
